Titan Orientation Leaders

Titan Orientation Leaders (TOLs) help incoming students transition to the IWU family. TOLs will provide leadership to students, interact with family members and guests, build relationships with IWU faculty and staff and be a part of making an impact on the university, all while developing personally and professionally.

Each year, IWU admits hundreds of students - freshman, transfer, and international - all of whom have their own separate orientation programs. The Office of Orientation Services facilitates two programs: Rising Titan (Summer) and Turning Titan (Fall). TOLs will be selected to participate in one or more of these programs.

If you have any questions, please reach out to our Senior Titan Orientation Leaders.

Cayden Webster

Cayden Webster

Hello! My name is Cayden Webster, and this is my second year as a senior TOL. I am a junior political science major here at IWU, and aside from the TOL program, I have been involved in Student Senate, Greek life, and the national political science honor society, Pi Sigma Alpha. You can also find me working on campus as a tutor in the Writing Center if you stop by Ames Library! The best advice I can give to any incoming student is to embrace the endless opportunities for involvement that come your way. Contributing to the positive campus culture at IWU has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my time in college. I encourage everyone to make the same leap!

Ella Frey

Ella Frey

Brandy Petitt

Brandy Petitt

Hi all! My name is Brandy, I’m a member of the class of 2028, and I major in biology on the pre-med track. Besides this new position as a seniorTOL I’m involved in multiple things on campus. I run track and field, work as a general biology TA, and am a student ambassador. I am also a part of SCS (students of color in STEM), SAAC (student athlete advisory committee), and the bio club. Besides being a student, I love baking (if you ever need a cake, I’m your gal) and going shopping, whether I'm buying or not. When I'm home, I love spending time with my younger cousins and my boyfriend's nieces. For our incoming students, 1 piece of advice I can offer is to get out there and be yourself, but also have your own boundaries. Two of the most important are deciding whether something's truly interesting to you, yes, get out there, but self-care is also important, prioritize your wants and needs. Also, setting a consistent bedtime. Knowing when that stopping point is between I'm not gonna be awake in class tomorrow vs. I may be a little sleepy when I get up in the morning. College is one of the biggest times of growth in your life, and I’m so excited to be welcoming you guys into your college and IWU experience!! Can’t wait to meet you all. TGOE!!!

Sebastian Alvarez

Sebastian Alvarez

Hello there! My name is Sebastian Alvarez and I’m so excited to be returning as a senior TOL this year! I am a junior majoring in political science, hoping to pursue a career in law or politics. On campus, I’m involved with the Interfraternity Council, the political science honor society Pi Sigma Alpha, and within my fraternity. In my free time, you could find me at Shirk working out, listening to music such as Radiohead or hard rock, or playing my guitar. My biggest piece of advice for incoming students is to be yourself and to get involved; the vast amount of RSO’s and other organizations on campus bring many opportunities to get involved and acclimated to IWU. I’m so excited to meet you all for the beginning of your IWU experience! TGOE!

Nathan Betancourt

Nathan Betancourt

Hello! My name is Nathan Betancourt, class of 2027. I am a current Biology major on the Pre-Med track with a minor in history. Wesleyan is a school that allows you to have endless possibilities. As a freshman I was able to do research with a professor, and aside from being a STOL, I am involved in various clubs and in Greek life. Wesleyan provides you every opportunity you need to succeed, and my advice is to take full advantage of what's offered. This is a time for growth and development, and stretching outside of your comfort zone, go out and try things you never thought you would do. I hope your experiences are amazing and I can’t wait to meet you all! TGOE!

Ellery Rohr

On campus, I am involved in my sorority, Sigma Kappa, as the Vice President of Member Integrity. I am also a Presidential Ambassador where I work closely with incoming students and current students at IWU. In my free time I love to run, do yoga, go to coffee shops, listen to music, and read. Katie Poehlman

I spend time at IWU working as an intramural staff manager and helping with concessions in the Shirk Center. I am currently an intern at a nonprofit in town, helping to address domestic violence in our community. Mariah Reading

Mariah Reading

Hi everyone! My name is Mariah Reading; I am a member of the class of 2027. I am majoring in Elementary Education with a Reading Endorsement, hoping to be a first-grade teacher. I also have hopes in furthering my education after IWU. I work on campus in the science building, and as a Titan Ambassador, I also work off-campus at the Bloomington Public Library. IWU has so many opportunities to offer you on and off campus, and I can’t wait to help you guys experience them all. My advice to incoming students is to be yourself. College seems scary, and it's easy to try and hide who you are in the hope of meeting new people. But I assure you that embracing who you are to your fullest capacity will attract some of the greatest people that you get to spend the rest of your college years with!

Imani Ogunribido

Imani Ogunribido

Hi there! I am Imani Ogunribido, a junior psychology major and sports management minor. I am a part of the track and field team here at Wesleyan, and I am also an intramural manager! Athletics is a large part of my time here at Wesleyan, but my academic career has still been able to prosper with my additional commitments. This will be my first year as a Senior Titan Orientation Leader and 3rd year as an orientation leader, and I am so excited for the upcoming fall orientation! In my freshman year, I was terrified of all the unknowns about going to college. Where to go, how to study, who would be my new friends, but my TOLs were so helpful in getting me acquainted with campus, and each year I hope I can be that helpful guide for other students! I think it is also important to have leaders who represent you, so I hope to provide comfort and familiarity to those coming into a new space looking for community. My time here at Wesleyan has taught me so much and helped me grow as a person, and I can't express enough how grateful I am to be able to share my knowledge with this incoming 2030 class!
