BLOOMINGTON, Ill. 鈥 Titans have set a new school record for their high achievement in athleticism and academics. Fifteen 蓝莓视频 students have been named as Academic All-Americans for the 2024-25 school year, earning 16 recognitions.
The Academic All-America program, managed by the College Sports Communicators (CSC), honors student-athletes for their excellence in both sports and academics. Nominees for Academic All-America awards must meet high athletic standards and hold a 3.50 cumulative GPA or higher. CSC recognizes Academic All-America teams consisting of student-athletes participating at all levels of NCAA competition, as well as NAIA, NJCAA and U Sports.
"Another record-setting year of Academic All-Americans is a testament to the commitment to excellence in academics, athletics, and the community that our athletic department strives for,鈥 said IWU Athletic Director Mike Wagner. 鈥淚n an incredibly successful year of competition, our student-athletes continued to have record-setting success in the classroom culminating in these 16 Academic All-America selections. This group, and all of our Academic All-Americans throughout the years, have excelled in the classroom, embracing the academic rigor offered at IWU on a daily basis, while also competing for conference and national championships 鈥 embodying what being a Titan student-athlete is all about."
Breaking last year鈥檚 record of 10 students, this year鈥檚 awardees contribute to . This includes 74 first-team selections, 49 second-team selections, and 53 third-team selections. IWU鈥檚 total places Titans in the top 25 across all NCAA Divisions and among the top 10 in Division III.
In addition, Illinois Wesleyan's men's basketball is No. 1 all time, across all divisions, in the number of Academic All-America selections; Titan baseball is now at No. 7 in the nation across all divisions and IWU softball is in the top 10.
Illinois Wesleyan鈥檚 Academic All-Americans recognized during the 2024-25 academic year included: Ernie Waterson '25 (men鈥檚 cross country/track & field), Annalese Chudy '25 (women's cross country/track & field), Adriana Crabtree '26 (women's cross country/track & field), Quinn Clifford '25 (at-large - men's golf), Griffin Pohl '25 (at-large - men's golf), Juney Bai '26 (at-large - men's golf), Billy McHugh '28 (at-large - men's lacrosse), Sam Weinberg '25 (at-large - men's lacrosse), Macy Ludwig '25 (at-large - women's golf), Jen Kuhn '25 (softball), Ava Khoury '25 (softball), Nick Roper '25 (men's basketball), Mallory Powers '25 (women's basketball), Lauren Huber '25 (women's basketball & women's cross country/track & field) and Kannyn Boyd '28 (women's volleyball).
